Job Description
Overview of the project.
Horti-LIFE is funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) and implemented by SNV-Ethiopia in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture. The aim is to increase the productivity and food safety in the horticultural sector by supporting smallholder farmers, rural SMEs and supporting institutions. The second phase of the project (2019-2023) works via the following components:
Summary of the position
The main responsibility of the Operation/ Horti-LIFE II Project Administrator / is to administrate the grants to over 100 grantees of the Smallholder Chain Integration Fund:
- Support the SCIF team in preparing in the selection process of grantees.
- Train grantees on all administrative aspects and how to report to Horti-LIFE.
- Due diligence of the administrative capacities of short-listed grantees
- Prepare the grant contracts.
- Review quarterly reports of grantees. Correct the reports and support grantees to improve them.
- Monitor the progress of grantees (based on agreed milestones) together with the SCIF manager.
- Maintain a database of all grants with their budgets and the agreed milestones

Qualifications
- A relevant BSc degree (MBA /Administration / Finance)
- Solid knowledge of administrative procedures and systems
Work experience
- A minimum of 10 years of work experience in administration
- Broad experience in project budgeting and procurement

- Team player with networking abilities.
- Fluent in English and local languages
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
