SNV in Bangladesh is seeking a Knowledge Management and Communication Intern, during the period April - November 30, 2021.
S/he will work for the projects titled: “Livelihood Support of COVID-19 Pandemic Affected Low-income Community through Solar Energy Interventions” (this element runs from April through to end June) and “E-cooker Network for Urban Slums: Benefits and Barriers to Implementation” (this element runs from July to end November). S/he will be based in SNV in Bangladesh’s country office in Dhaka as required.

Activities
The specific duties and responsibilities of the intern will include:
Communication and Knowledge Management
Project Title: Livelihood Support of COVID-19 Pandemic affected Low-income Community through Solar Energy Interventions
- Provide support in organising Project Learning Sharing Workshop, partners meeting, networking events and drafting & delivering related communication materials.
- Support to manage project communication in SNV communication channels viz organisation website Yammer, Twitter, Facebook etc.
- Assist to provide digital communication related guidance to the beneficiaries.
- Assist in drafting workshop and meeting reports for internal and external use.
- Support field coordination and drafting cases/success stories/blog/news of the beneficiaries and collect quality photographs & video footage from the field in compliance with EU GDPR data protection protocols.
- Ensure the knowledge generated within the organization is made easily visible, available, and useful to SNV’s target audiences.
Deliverables
The intern will provide support to the following deliverables:
- Communication materials (printed infographics, one-pagers, flyers, newsletter, banner etc.) for different workshops, training programs, meetings for the mentioned project.
- Case study and success stories of the beneficiaries.
- Digital marketing platform, content for social media like Facebook, YouTube brief guideline, training materials for the beneficiaries.
- Any other tasks related to communication and knowledge management activities as required to support the project.
Timeframe
The intern will be responsible to deliver all the deliverables during April 2021 to June 2021.
Project Title: “E-cooker network for Urban Slums - Benefits and Barriers to implementation”
- Manage project communication in SNV communication channels viz organisation website Yammer, Twitter, Facebook etc.
- Provide support in organising Project learning and knowledge sharing workshop with relevant stakeholders, government and NGO officials, partners meeting, networking events and drafting & delivering related communication materials.
- Assist in drafting workshop and meeting reports for internal and external use.
- Support field coordination and drafting cases/success stories/blog/news of the beneficiaries & hub leaders and collect quality photographs & video footage from the field in compliance with EU GDPR data protection protocols.
- Help disseminate information about the project's knowledge sharing programme to internal and external audiences, maintaining communications on knowledge sharing across the organization, participation in orientation and training sessions, and preparation of brochures/presentations.
- Ensure the knowledge generated within the organization is made easily visible, available, and useful to the target audience.
Deliverables
- The intern will provide support to the following deliverables:
- Design banners using Photoshop/Illustrator for different workshops and other events.
- Communication materials (printed infographics, one-pagers, flyers, newsletter, etc.) for different workshops, training programs, meetings, social media & blog communication of the mentioned project.
- Design training manual on safe and efficient uses of e-cooker for users.
- Write case studies and success stories of the beneficiaries.
- Any other tasks related to key project activities and business development as required
Timeframe
The intern will be responsible to deliver all the deliverables during July 2021 to November 2021.
General Support
- Design and develop communication materials (i.e., printed infographics, one-pagers, flyers, newsletter, banner etc.) to reflect the key messages for distribution to donors, media, stakeholders, and partners through a variety of mediums.
- Drafting and delivering communication campaigns and high-profile events (i.e., national & international conferences, seminars, and workshops) aimed at boosting the visibility of the project and increasing engagement with partners and stakeholders.
- Drafting ToR, blog articles, speech, and concept notes, and oversee the conceptualisation and production of audio-visual materials to be delivered by vendors /consultants.
- Design and prepare PPT presentation for different energy programmes for different target audiences.
- Engage local media to effectively highlight the project activities and success stories. Write and ensure the quality of press releases and other forms of internal and external communications.
- Formatting and developing different communication, marketing, technical, business analysis reports, related infographics, and project progress reports.
- Attend meetings with project staff to understand issues related to the implementation and provide input on possible solutions to address challenges.
- Visit project sites (security permitting) to understand how SNV operates in the field and engages with local stakeholders and beneficiaries.
- Carry out any other activities related to communication as and when prescribed by the SNV management team.
Qualifications
Education:
Undergraduate/Postgraduate student in a relevant discipline, such as in Journalism and Mass Communication, Marketing, Public Relation, Entrepreneurship Development, Economics, Anthropology, Development Studies, Management of Technology or related subject areas.
Core Competencies:
- Proven strong academic track record
- Desire to gain work experience in public relations, communication areas, business analysis, entrepreneurship development, international development, and programme implementation knowledge.
- Ability to illustrate complex situations, subjects, and projects for different audiences.
- General knowledge and understanding of the international and national development context and energy sectors.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Bangla.
- Experience in collecting and searching data on the Internet.
- High level of different software literacy such as MS Office – PowerPoint, Word and Excel etc.
- Proficiency in necessary IT/design software Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign etc.
- Good knowledge of web and print-based marketing materials.
- Photography and videography skill.

Additional Information
Duration & Duty Station
The intern will be based at the SNV in Bangladesh Country Office Dhaka, with frequent travel to programme areas (as allowed by current Coronavirus restrictions and in line with Government directives). The intern will work average 18 days a month from the start in April – end June, and average 3 days per month July – November. Total Level of Effort until end June will not exceed 54 days and will not exceed 15 days from July – November. S/he will report to Coordinator- Renewable Energy. The intern is expected to join the team as soon as possible in April 2021.
Monthly Fees
Fees are set at BDT 1,900 per day (inclusive tax) which will be paid monthly and based on the number of days worked in each month (not to exceed Level of Effort outlined above).
