Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, test, and trouble shoot industrial control systems, sub-assemblies and all related components by working from assembly drawing and manufacturing documents.
  • Assemble complex electro-mechanical assemblies.  Troubleshoot, calibrate and perform testing complex products.
  •  Perform work on hydraulic, pneumatic and other kinds of systems.
  • Train new associates on assembly techniques, practices and job quality.
  • Recommend process improvements to drawings or assembly which effect form, fit, and function.
  • Determine the most suitable tools and equipment necessary to perform the assigned work.
  • Ensure quality and reliability through workmanship.
  • Perform assigned tasks meeting or exceeding time standards.
  • Understands basic principles of production line design and process.
  • May function as a team member on special projects as directed by Lead or Manager.
  • Maintain company equipment, tools and shop area to department specifications and maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Well-developed level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to recognize when guidance or direction is needed.
  •  Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of analytical and critical thinking capabilities, problem solving, trouble shooting and mechanical ability.
  •  High level of understanding of electrical components and systems.
  • Above average hand-eye coordination.
  • Attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
  •  Ability to read and interpret assembly blueprints.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced complex work environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Minimum High School graduate or equivalent experience and training (GED) required.
  • Prefer a technical degree or associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology.
  • State Journeyman Electrician License and/or up to date certificate required.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience with manufacturing assembly techniques involving electrical assemblies or have gained experience and knowledge within the company for advancement
