Job Description
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for machine wiring, panel building, maintaining, testing and troubleshooting industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls
Duties and responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes and other electrical components
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems,
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
- May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
- Entails working with safety control systems, robotic cells, start-up, and troubleshooting machines
- Conduct service and installs as needed on and off company facility
- Strong knowledge troubleshooting and start-up of light curtains and e-stops circuit systems.
- Will be required to travel up to 50% of the time within North America, valid passport required
Qualifications
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming
- Network configuration, set-up, and commissioning
- Strong knowledge of safety circuits, control systems and robotic cells
Education/Experience:
Completion of a four or five year industrial electrician apprenticeship program or electrical technician program completion or working towards. A minimum of 3 years work experience with live electrical components in an automation material handling industry.
Interpersonal:
- Is able to work under limited supervision
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Self-motivated and works well in a team environment
- Precise detail oriented
