Job Description

General Purpose:

Responsible for directing the Kent manufacturing operations and its key Contract Manufacturing and 3PL partners. Includes: Advanced Material Cutting Shop, Facilities, Supply Chain, Quality and Safety. Key International Contract Manufacturing Partners and 3PL Facilities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee overall plant operations which include manufacturing and other groups.

  • Oversee performance of key Contract Manufacturing partners as well as key 3PL and Logistics partners.

  • Drive improvements to productivity, quality and efficiency of operations.

  • Responsible for Global SIOP Process.

  • Responsible for Global Supply Chain.

  • Ensure that critical performance measures and responsibilities meet or exceed standards.

  • Responsible for building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, elevators, etc. 

  • Responsible for contractors for facilities planning, renovation projects, floor arrangements, etc.

  • Ensure successful planning, development, and implementation of continuous improvement.

  • Ensure that expense and capital budgets are properly developed, approved, and managed in a timely manner for all manufacturing departments; review budgets monthly. 

  • Manage Inventory levels and COGS cash flow in support of the business.

  • Manage staffing levels.

  • Provide leadership and direction to assigned staff.

  • Responsible for on-time completion of performance reviews. Drive development plans to ensure on-going skills improvement and staff development.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High level of analytical ability to solve complex problems.

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Significant experience in support and leadership of Contract Manufacturing and Distribution.

  • Experience with a Global Supply Chain.

  • Previous experience managing a facility including capital appropriation and budgeting.

  • Proven track record of continuous improvement, quality improvements and project management.

  • Strong leadership and strong interpersonal skills to build and lead highly effective teams

  • Ability to interact extensively with associates at all levels, suppliers and customers.

  • Demonstrated ability for innovative/creative thinking

Supervisory Responsibility:

Yes. Direct of Operations Staff (Quality Manager, Shop Manager, Supply Chain Manager and Logistics), Indirect of Key Partners.

Education/Experience and/or Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing or Industrial engineering or Business Management or equivalent experience required

  • 10 years or equivalent experience leading a manufacturing environment

  • Intermediate level experience with Windows, Excel and Word.

  • Intermediate level experience with ERP and PDM software.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with the application of Lean tools and Value Stream analysis
