Job Description

General Purpose:

Responsible for managing, establishing, reviewing, and maintaining a master schedule for the SHAPE Factory for specified families of end item products and their associated components to maximize customer service, minimize inventory investment, and make efficient use of internal and external manufacturing resources.  The Master Scheduler should have substantial product, manufacturing, and market knowledge since the individual actions taken have a direct impact on customer service, material, and capacity planning.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Supports and recommends Continuous Improvement initiatives.  Ability to recognize areas for improvement and suggest new/improved methods.

·        Creates and maintains accurate Master Production Schedule.  Monitors the master schedule daily to ensure it continually meets customer service goals, inventory levels, production efficiency and capacity objectives.  Interacts with the Sales team, Supply Chain and Operations to provide timely and accurate information on product availability, schedule changes, general inquiries and recommends adjustments to the appropriate departments.

·        Takes the lead converting forecast into specific MLI requirements whenever changes in customer demand, changes in production attainment or whenever the schedule no longer meets objectives and performs work order planning functions for all Standard System Production Line orders.

·        Responsible for Schedule Board relating to all manufacturing functions, maintain, update, & monitor for changes for Standard System Product.

·        Establish the Master Production schedule as a result of translating the approved Sales, Operations and Inventory plan into an executable schedule with the appropriate time fences.

·        Converts forecast into specific MLI requirements whenever changes in customer demand, changes in production attainment or whenever the schedule no longer meets objectives and performs work order planning functions for all Standard System Production Line orders.

·        Responsible for Schedule Board relating to all manufacturing functions, maintain, update, & monitor for changes for Standard System Product.

·        Executes the established production schedule as a result of translating the approved Sales, Operations and Inventory plan into a workable schedule with the appropriate time fences.

·        Communicates to Operations/Business/Project/Manufacturing scheduling information as needed.

 

Miscellaneous Duties:

·        Follows all ISO 9001 procedures and work instructions; notifies or recommends to supervisor when procedures require update.

·        Follows and practices all safety procedures.  Notifies supervisor immediately when potential hazards exist.

·        Other duties as assigned.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic Engineering and Procurement best practices and requirements in a Lean-manufacturing environment. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across multiple departments. 

  • Capable of demonstrating a high level of accuracy; attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Independent and Self Directed

  • Prior Manufacturing Scheduling background a plus

  • Demonstrated proficiency with advanced MS Excel (or equivalent) and Microsoft Project Management functions.

Education/Experience and/or Training:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience in related field with 2-3 years of scheduling/purchasing/engineering department experience in a Lean manufacturing/operations environment.  A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
