Job Description
SGS is looking for a Mechanical Quality Inspector – Chemical Sampling & Material Transfer in Pasco, WA for a 6 month contract with a possibility of an extension. Work schedule is 5 days a week, up to 10 hours/day.
Scope of work:
- Supplier Quality Representative (SQR) will need to be an on project Mechanical qualified individual qualified under the suppliers safety program and the project safety requirements necessary in order to use PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) filtered air personnel protective equipment.
- The scope includes monitoring material transfer operations, witnessing weighing activities, and collecting samples of GFR chemicals in both solid and liquid forms. Given the nature of this work and the associated exposure risks, the use of respiratory PPE (PAPR – as stated above) is mandatory.
Qualifications
- At least one of the following: AWS CWI or API certification
- Five to ten (5 - 10) years industrial sample monitoring experience.
- Industrial experience in Oil & gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc..
- The inspector must have access to and be properly equipped with a PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) to safely perform the required duties.
- Inspector must either already be Bechtel pre-qualified or be capable of obtaining BSQE Mechanical Level II Qualification (bill client -some we pay - 4 – 6 hours)

Type of contract: sub-contractor agreement (1099)
Work schedule and hours of work: 5 days / week. Up to 10 hrs / day (Monday to Friday)
Pay Rate: $45 / hr. to $50 / hr.
Per diems: to be discussed
