Commissioning Lead will manage end‑to‑end commissioning activities for large-scale data center projects in KSA. The role requires deep technical expertise in mission‑critical infrastructure, strong coordination, and hands-on leadership across all commissioning phases to ensure systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and operationally ready.

Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Commissioning Plan, procedures, test scripts, schedules, and reports in alignment with project milestones.
  • Oversee commissioning of all data center mission‑critical systems, including electrical (MV/LV, generators, UPS, switchgear, ATS/STSs), mechanical (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers), BMS, fire detection and suppression, ELV, DCIM, and security systems.
  • Lead and execute Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and site-wide testing to validate redundancy, resilience, and performance under various operating scenarios.
  • Coordinate closely with design consultants, EPC contractors, vendors, authorities, and client teams to ensure seamless execution of commissioning activities.
  • Review, monitor, and approve contractor commissioning documentation, method statements, test procedures, and results.
  • Chair commissioning and interface meetings, manage issue logs, punch lists, and ensure timely resolution and close‑out of all commissioning findings.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, NFPA, IEC, IEEE), project specifications, client requirements, and local KSA regulations.
  • Enforce strict HSE compliance during all commissioning and testing activities.
  • Support Tier certification processes (if applicable) and client inspections.
  • Ensure accurate and complete commissioning records, support preparation of O&M manuals, as-built documentation, training programs, and final handover to operations teams.
  • Lead client acceptance testing and obtain final system sign‑off.
  • Lead and manage the entire commissioning lifecycle, including commissioning planning, pre‑commissioning, functional testing, integrated systems testing (IST), final acceptance, and handover.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering
  • Professional certifications preferred (CxA, PMP, Uptime Accredited Tier Specialist)
  • 10–15 years of overall experience in MEP/commissioning
  • Minimum 5–7 years in data center commissioning, preferably hyperscale or colocation projects
  • Proven experience managing large, complex, mission-critical facilities.
