Job Description

As a LIMS Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining the CCLAS Laboratory Information Management System, also known as SLIM or G6, for the Minerals Geochem Business Unit in Australia. Reporting to the National LIMS Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring laboratory systems are reliable, compliant and fit for purpose across both central and remote site operations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintain SLIM/G6 systems to support compliance with ISO 9001 and, where applicable, ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Schedule regular system maintenance to ensure SLIM platforms remain up to date with current versions and releases.
  • Support and maintain remote versions of SLIM for mine sites and assist with system preparation for remote operations.
  • Provide practical SLIM/G6 training and general system-related IT support to laboratory teams.
  • Use SGS designated DevOps software for code created as part of the role.
  • Work closely with the IT Country Manager to align on development activities, approvals, process requirements and monthly updates.
  • Contribute to a safe, compliant and professional working environment aligned with the SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.

    About you

    You are organised, analytical and confident working independently. You enjoy solving problems, supporting users and keeping systems running smoothly. You will bring strong communication skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to manage schedules, minor projects and competing priorities. You will also be comfortable travelling to remote and regional sites when required.

    What we’re looking for

    • Certificate IV or similar qualification in programming.
    • Previous experience working with CCLAS, SLIM/G6 or a similar LIMS platform.
    • Strong understanding of laboratory practices, chemical processes and quality system requirements.
    • Intermediate computer literacy, including VBA, VBS and SQL knowledge.
    • Operational knowledge of ISO 9001 systems, with exposure to ISO 17025 highly regarded.
    • Experience supporting safe work practices and contributing to a sustainable safety culture within a laboratory environment.
