Field Based – Midlands area

The role

As an Asbestos Surveyor at SGS, you will carry out consultancy and surveying activities across a variety of client sites, ensuring asbestos risks are identified, assessed and managed safely and compliantly.

You’ll operate across a mix of environments — from industrial locations, commercial premises and domestic properties  — delivering high-quality surveys and reports that clients rely on to stay compliant and safe

What you’ll be doing

  • Conduct asbestos surveys and safely sample suspect materials in line with industry standards
  • Accurately record findings and produce clear, compliant reports
  • Assess asbestos risks and provide practical advice on management or removal
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Support quality assurance activities, audits and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • BOHS P402 (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as an Asbestos Surveyor
  • Strong knowledge of asbestos legislation, regulations and best practice
  • Excellent attention to detail and reporting skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
  • Full driving licence to use in the UK and willingness to travel
