Job Description

  • Receiving laboratory supplies and samples ensuring delivery correctness
  • Maintaining compliance to relevant SGS SOP’s and completing any relevant forms.
  • Record keeping of shipping temperature monitoring devices upon receipt Unpacking and placing samples and materials into appropriate storage.
  • Reporting any broken or damaged sample receipt and any sample information discrepancies to relevant department or client.
  • Maintaining and following up with relevant department or client regarding samples placed on hold due to lack of information or damages.
  • Entering the sample information into LIMS as per SGS procedures and identifying the testing requirements provided by client.
  • Generating Lab-sheets and sample labels
  • Delivering samples into appropriate testing and storage locations
  • Delivering Lab-sheets into appropriate departments
  • Maintaining sample receiving area organized and free of clutter
  • Managing the archiving of the samples
  • Responsible for the proper disposal of samples as per SGS LSS guidelines

Additional Information:

Salary: $24.25 - $25.00/Hour

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a community college diploma
  • Over one year’s experience in an administrative or technical role 
  • Prior technical experience in a chemistry related role
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast paced, highly professional environment.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions / Standard Operating Procedures in a safe, accurate and timely manner
  • Must be highly organized and able to work effectively and efficiently in a demanding environment with frequently changing priorities
  • Ability to work well with others & independently
