Job Description

Join our Environment Team and play a key role in delivering environmental compliance and marine inspection programs across a diverse range of projects. This position offers a unique blend of fieldwork and office-based analysis, with a strong focus on marine environments.

You’ll be responsible for supporting our marine compliance program and infrastructure inspection works through field surveys, analysing data, and delivering high-quality reports, with guidance from the Environmental Manager.

The key duties of the position include:

  • Deliver environmental compliance surveys in line with regulatory and client requirements
  • Conduct fieldwork, including operating vessels and environmental monitoring equipment
  • Analyse and interpret data, maintain databases, and prepare technical reports
  • Support the planning and coordination of field programs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver environmental and infrastructure projects
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders as required
  • Support the delivery of marine compliance programs and infrastructure inspections
  • Deliver environmental and infrastructure projects to a high standard

Qualifications

About You

Essential:

  • Degree in Marine Science, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience in environmental monitoring, data analysis, or compliance
  • Strong report writing and data management skills
  • Experience operating vessels (independently and in a team)
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability
  • Willingness to undertake fieldwork and travel
  • Coxswain NC2 and valid driver’s licence

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Tasmanian environmental regulations and EPA frameworks
  • Experience in aquaculture, marine ecology, or similar industries
  • Experience with geospatial and data tools (e.g. GIS, Excel, Python, or R)
  • Experience with ROVs, UAVs, or similar technologies
  • Ability to tow and handle vessels
