Job Description
Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the Laboratory Technician is responsible for undertaking day‑to‑day, client focused metallurgical testwork activities at Metallurgy Pty Ltd based in Welshpool.
This hands on position plays a key role in sample management, laboratory preparation, and routine testwork, while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities include, however, are not limited to:
- Receive, prepare, and manage samples, including inventory preparation
- Conduct a range of metallurgical testwork activities, including:
- Sample drying and weighing
- Rotary and riffle splitting
- Crushing and grinding
- Routine comminution testing and grind establishments
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and to a high-quality standard
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to QA/QC procedures
- Work independently using initiative, while also supporting senior technicians and team members
- Maintain strong attention to detail and consistent work standard
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- 1 – 2 years experience in the minerals processing / production / laboratory testing industries.
- Knowledge and experience with various commodities and unit operations.
- Experience with some metallurgical laboratory operations and /or testing operations.
- A Forklift certification.
- First aid training.
