Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead the commercial strategy and execution across  Colombia, Central America, and the Caribbean oriented to Environmental Solutions. This role is responsible for designing and implementing sales tactics, managing high-performing teams, and ensuring the achievement of revenue and profitability targets.

The ideal candidate will bring deep market insight, strategic thinking, and strong leadership to drive business growth and client satisfaction.

Strategic Leadership & Market Development

  • Co-develop the commercial strategy with the Senior Business Manager, aligning with market trends and business objectives.
  • Design and implement effective sales tactics for the commercial team.
  • Analyze market conditions to identify new product opportunities and business development needs.
  • Lead strategic planning to achieve short- and long-term objectives, including partnerships with industry associations and government entities.

Sales Management & Performance

  • Ensure achievement of sales budgets and gross profitability across assigned sectors.
  • Organize and structure the sales team to meet commercial goals, defining roles and territories.
  • Monitor daily commercial KPIs and consolidate performance indicators.
  • Assign leads and manage client focus portfolios per executive.
  • Evaluate individual and team performance using clear metrics (sales quotas, client engagement, proposal volume, etc.).

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure commercial proposals meet accreditation standards and client expectations.
  • Provide feedback to Product Managers on market performance and opportunities.
  • Represent SGS at industry events and trade fairs to enhance visibility and business development.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee CRM data integrity and ensure client information is accurate and up to date.
  • Approve commissions and ensure compliance with internal commercial policies.
  • Guarantee alignment with SGS’s integrity and ethical standards in all commercial activities.
  • Ensure effective communication between sales and operations teams.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure compliance with SGS’s Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Report incidents and environmental risks in accordance with local legislation and internal procedures.
  • Participate in HSE training, emergency planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and support the implementation of HSE policies, objectives, and legal requirements.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Forestry, Biology, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Postgraduate studies in International Business, Marketing, Business Development, Environmental Management, or Sustainability.
  • MBA is highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years leading commercial, business development, or consulting teams in environmental services, engineering, or sustainability sectors.
  • Proven track record managing high-competitive commercial budget and closing deals.
  • Experience managing large accounts across multiple countries, preferably in Colombia, Central America, and the Caribbean.
  • Established professional network in the region.

Technical Knowledge

  • Deep expertise in environmental consulting and impact assessment studies.
  • General technical knowledge in environmental monitoring, laboratory services, sustainability, ESG, circular economy, and health & safety.
  • Strong understanding of sales administration, cost and budget management, and commercial strategy.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and performance evaluation tools. (e.g., Oracle, Salesforce).

Languages

  • Advanced English proficiency is required, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Mobility

  • High availability to travel across the region.

Additional Information

  • Compensation Package: Monthly base salary + sales comissions (based on Company´s policy) + company benefits
  • Work model: Monday to Friday business hours.
  • Type of contract: Permanent and Regular based in local labour laws.
