Job Description

As a Payroll Officer working at SGS New Zealand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees.

In this fixed-term contract (covering maternity leave) position, based in our Auckland CBD office, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll operations.

Your attention to detail and strong organisational skills will be essential in delivering a seamless payroll experience for our valued employees.

What you'll be doing

  • Accurately process payroll for all employees, including calculating wages, deductions, and net pay
  • Check and review employee payroll records, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
  • Prepare and submit all necessary payroll-related reports and documentation
  • Balance PAYE and complete Pay Day filing to ensure all employee earnings are filed with the IRD
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide support on payroll-related matters
  • Collaborate with the finance and HR teams

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years relevant experience in a payroll role, with a strong understanding of full cycle payroll processing and compliance
  • Previous experience in using Datacom preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with employees and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of New Zealand payroll regulations and best practices
