Job Description

Working Hours - Monday to Friday ( 11.00AM to 7.00PM)

  • Login sample/reference standards/reagents in the LIMS system as required.
  • Receiving packages ensuring delivery correctness
  • Updating standard database in LIMS by adding new or removing expired / used up standards
  • Responsible for removing expired standards from shelves to keep accurate inventory
  • Performing standards inventory
  • Informing clients about their upcoming expiring reference standards
  • Liaise with the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and European Pharmacopeia (EP) organizations and such, on regular basis to ensure Reference Standards database is regularly updated.
  • Maintenance and filing of standard certificates
  • Prioritize, schedule, and plan daily work in order to maintain efficient workflow to assure completion of scheduled tasks
  • Inform the Department Manager and/or Group Leader, as far in advance as possible, if the assigned work order cannot be satisfactorily completed within established scheduled time and quality of work expectations.
  • Contacts clients in case of any issues and arranges meetings, as required. 
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking to meet the department needs and working with multiple managers and assignments simultaneously.
  • Must be able to follow standard procedures, communicate with all levels and a strong team player.
  • Follow SOP for training and maintain training records.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned
  • Provide mutual back-up support to other staff as required

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary education in sciences (chemistry or biology) program would be preferred
  • Previous experience in an administrative or technical role would be an asset.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions / Standard Operating Procedures in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Candidates must be proficient in using various type of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.) and be able to demonstrate good keyboarding skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good keyboarding skills (65 – 75 WPM).
  • Must be highly organized and able to work effectively and efficiently in a demanding environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
  • Must be able to lift/move items that weigh up to 10 kg
  • Ability to work well with others & independently.
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
