With main office in Maputo and representativeness in Beira, Nacala, Tete, Pemba, Lichinga and Manica is looking for SGS MCNet Ltd and SGS Mozambique Ltd. Accountant Bank and Cash based in Maputo city, reporting to Chief Accountant, under the below terms of reference:

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Monitor daily bank transactions (cash-in/cash-out) in all bank accounts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial reports.
  • Sending daily POP to suppliers.
  • Sending daily receivables from clients to collections teams.
  • Prepare cash position reports in weekly/regular basis.
  • Monitoring of bank instructions and follow up with the banks.
  • Daily exchange rate update.
  • Contracts registration before central bank.
  • Review the petty cash on monthly basis before sent to FSSC (Finance Service Shared Service).
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanation.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards.
  • Record and reconcile short term investments.
  • Prepare and submit all the bank instructions to bank.
  • Maintain the bank diaries full updated.
  • Follow up on uncleared items and pending on the bank and petty cash reconciliations.
  • Ensure petty cash replenishment for the provinces is made regularly.
  • Ensure all the utilities payments are processed timeously.
  • Ensure proper filling and labeling for bank and cash documentation. 
  • Prepare regular cash flow projections and other ad hoc cash and bank reports.
  • Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to, bookkeeping, copying, faxing, mailing and filling.
  • File and retrieve finance documents, records and reports.
  • Carry our any other duties as instructed by management that may be deemed appropriate and within our capabilities.
  • Adhere to all Operational integrity and safety requirements.
  • Implement best practices in treasury and accounting operations.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
  • Adopt, at all times, a safe behaviour by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees in line with SGS policies and procedures.
  • Comply, at all times, with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
  • Ensure team members comply with relevant procedures and work instructions
  • Ensure team members use correct templates and comply with ISO requirements.
  • Work in accordance with ISO standards and requirements (17025,9001, 14001 and 45001
  • Ensure full compliance with the Company’s Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct.
  • Report all hazards, near misses and incidents.
  • Always wear relevant PPE and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in monthly safety talk with team members.
  • Ensure that all waste produced by SGS is disposed of in an environmentally sustainable manner.
  • Optimize resources to protect the environment.

Habilitações

Education and Competence:

  • Degree in accounting, finance, business/Administration, business, Economics, or other related area
  • 3+ years of office cash management support experience
  •  Knowledge of financial reporting regulations and Mozambique legislation.
  • Good understanding of Mozambique exchange control legislation.
  • Good keyboard skills.
  • Able to respond effectively to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team.
  • Good Verbal & Written skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent administration skills including filing and maintaining records.
  • Able to work effectively with minimal management guidance/supervision.
  • Personal commitment to achieving high performance within the workplace.
  • Goals and results orientated.
  • Familiar with ISO's 9001, 14001, 45001 and 17025.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and English.
  • Practical computer knowledge from the user's point of view of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM System programs (is an advantage).
