Job Description
Our client is looking for a Planner/Scheduler - Planning Engineer for a contract position that would likely start at the end of May 2024 until the end of May 2025 in Greeley, Colorado.
The successful candidate will develop detailed job schedules and plans for oil and gas projects. They will develop execution work planning package and tracks progress. The candidate must be familiar with cost engineering practices particularly in cost and scheduling.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops detailed job plans that include the following steps, durations, material, equipment needs, cost estimates, resource requirements, sequence of scheduling and Gantt chart.
- Coordinate planning resources in accordance with small capital projects cost estimates and schedules.
- Provide general coordination and monitor the progress of activities per the job plans and worklists.
- Coordinate with the project managers on jobs plans.
- Update plans with any approved change orders and develop new plans that arise..
- Develop regular reporting cadence to communicate planned vs actual progress.
- Analyze and recommend resolutions of work problems and execution in solving work problems.
- Adjust plans with feedback from execution.
- Perform critical and near critical path analysis.• Prepare summary and detail level schedules.
- Develop full Critical Path Method (CPM) logic-generated baseline schedules for projects.
- Perform monthly progress updates and create target comparison and periodic look-ahead schedules. Monitor and track progress at detailed and summary level.
- Always ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
- Develop and periodically update cost and/or resource loaded schedules.
- Participate in all project schedule reviews as required at Operations Review Meetings (ORMs) or other sessions.
- Participate in the development and preparation of proposal presentations, including developing preliminary bar chart schedules and staffing charts.
- Provide support and training in the use of project and scheduling software to office and jobsite staff.
- Conduct schedule and Work-In-Progress (WIP) reviews.
- Work together with multiple teams to coordinate both schedules and models.
- Interpret data, compile reports, and deliver presentations when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Mechanical, Industrial or other related engineering field
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Cost Engineering, Cost Estimating, planning, scheduling, estimating and other areas of project controls in a oil and gas environment.
- Advanced experience with scheduling software applications such as Primavera on projects; large project experience is desirable.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Positive leadership style and ability to create a high morale oil and gas environment
- Autonomous, self‐starter
- Superior planner and organizer
- Salary range: $45- 58/hour depending on experience
