Job Description

The Finance Business Support Manager oversees all business support accounting including streamlines all finance/accounting processes to support the business of US and Canada. Completes that all account reconciliations pertaining to Fixed Assets and certain intercompany reconciliations as well as consolidated account analysis of certain accounts. Position will also be involved in the tracking of capital expenditures, business investments, review of HR benefits/fringes, several accruals/accounts (Unbilled/WIP, inventories). This position will also be responsible on ensuring proper accounting and inventory of site assets including leases.

  • Completes of all the reporting requirements in the US and Canada particular to Capital Investments, 
  • Leases, and other designated Business driven accounts 
  • Participate in the design and facilitation of consolidated finance business support requirements. 
  • including communication, deployment, maintenance, and ongoing improvement to enhance and 
  • provide efficient processes.
  • Performs reconciliation and ensures all necessary adjustments are made. 
  • Performs preliminary reconciliation of Unbilled/WIP, Fixed Assets and Leases during the close 
  • Performs timely reconciliation of subledger accounts – Fixed Assets and Leases, certain intercompany.

  • Manages Finance Business Support team: participates in hiring interviews and final candidate selection, 
  • trains and coaches employees and conducts annual performance review. 
  • Oversees staff that are required to:
    • Complete all Business Support requirements.
    • Process and reconcile all designated accounts provided to the team.
    • Accruals and other distribution of costs/payments required for the Region such as fringes/employee benefits and facility costs
    • Support of the subledgers and other financial tools designated to the team.
  • Coordinates with the entire Region Finance Team of all requirements and ensures timely delivery and accurate delivery of such requirements including:
    • Account analysis of accounts designated for the team for both US and Canada
    • Fixed Asset and Capital Expenditure Reporting
    • Inventory Management
    • Leases and other site accounting
    • Internal and external audits
  • Follows internal controls and processes designed for the Region particular to designated accounts. 
  • Assist other countries’ inquiries and verification of data. 
  • Maintains confidentiality of figures or any financial data 
  • Has full responsibility for employees’ actions.
     

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 7+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience
  • 3+ years supervisory experience
  • Financial Project Management experience 

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in accounting in combination with experience listed above.

Licenses/ Certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

  • Language Skills:
    •     English – Advanced (Required)
    •     French and/or Spanish – Intermediate (Preferred)
  • MS Office Excel – Expert user level skills
  • MS Word and PowerPoint – Intermediate user proficiency 
  • Well-versed in financial systems (Oracle, HFM)
  • Strong business acumen/business awareness with solid technical and analytical background
  • Strong attention to detail with good organizational and inter personal skills.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations to different levels of management.
  • Leadership and coaching skills
  • Ability to motivate teams and lead through influence.

Travel

  • Occasional travel required (5%-33%)
