Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and talented professional to take on the role of Corporate Sustainability Manager at SGS. As the Corporate Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for driving improvement in sustainability performance and leading multiple programs aligned with our global strategy to achieve SGS's targets as outlined in our corporate Sustainability Ambitions 2030. Your primary focus will be on supply chain and social-related programs, ensuring that sustainability and ESG principles are embedded into our processes and practices. 

You will report directly to the Global Head of Corporate Sustainability. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Define and lead the execution of the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) supply chain program 
  • Embed sustainability and ESG principles into our supply chain processes 
  • Manage SGS Human Rights strategy at Group level, coordinating initiatives and the different stakeholders involved 
  • Lead the alignment to TCFD and conduct analysis of non-financial risks at Group level 
  • Support the climate change and decarbonization strategy projects 
  • Define sustainability programs and projects tackling both social and climate areas
  • Provide transversal support to all key areas of the Department 
  • Promote sustainability awareness via events such as presentations, workshops and conservation projects based on SGS demand 
  • Create insights and data analytics to raise the sustainability agenda  
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and initiatives, including EU directives (ie upcoming CS3D) 
  • Delivery of content for communication purposes related to the progress on social and environmental strategies (i.e., SGS Integrated Report, specific content for SGS publications, etc.) 

Core Competencies: 

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence, lead, and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders. 
  • A strategic and hands-on approach to working, combining long-term vision with practical implementation. 
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate several activities simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills
  • Fluency in business English is required, and knowledge of other languages is considered an asset. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally to engage with stakeholders and support sustainability efforts. 

Qualifications

  • University education in fields such as engineering, environmental studies, or related areas, with sustainability-related post-graduate qualifications. 
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in sustainability and related topics, with a preference for candidates with consultancy experience. 
  • Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and regulations, such as GRI, SASB, EU taxonomy, TCFD, among others. 
  • Proven experience in successfully managing and implementing sustainability strategies and programs. 
  • Multicultural work experience, facilitating collaboration across diverse global teams.
