Job Description
The main responsibilities for this position will include, but not limited to:
- Act as sole or lead auditor on RBS audit schemes
- Lead and organize audit team before, during and after the audit for the related job.
- Making relevant decisions concerning the audit process
- Ensure effective delivery of audits in line with RBS Global Procedures and any Scheme requirements or client SOPs
- Meet agreed turnaround times for reporting and other deliverables
- Respond to client enquiries on technical matters
- Present a professional image in all dealings with clients and auditees
- Promote the SGS approach and services at seminars and through presentations and articles
- Provide technical input to back office and sales teams as required
- Technical review of reports from other auditors
- Active development of relationships through existing networks and contacts. Remain up-to-date with current thinking and client expectations in this field; establish and maintain a network of stakeholders including NGOs, industry bodies and related contacts; attend public and client-led conferences; read news related to their topic of interest
- Ensure full compliance with the Company’s Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct and Impartiality Policy and encourage others do so
- Cooperate fully with any investigations in relation to Quality issues or Integrity where required
- At all times, adopt a safe behaviour by exercising due regard for their own health and safety and that of colleagues and clients, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures
- Witness other auditors for effectiveness of auditing to ensure that competence is maintained
- Mentor auditors and provide “on-the-job” training
- To provide commercial referrals to Sales and Marketing department and assist in the company business budget achievement
- Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by his / her manager
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in related field
- Minimum 5 years of related professional work experience or in similar capacity of industry
- At least 2 years of 5 relevant profession work experience are managing management system or supply chain activities, preferably in conducting audit (social compliance related) for external parties
- Successfully completed recognized lead auditor training (eg. SA8000 or IRCA Social Systems Lead Auditor Course or equivalent, etc)
- APSCA registered auditor, preferably APSCA CSCA or RA level
- Recognized approval as second-party auditor, or training to achieve such sign-off
- Experience of team management/leadership (desirable)
- Proven negotiation skills to be able to negotiate technical issues when dealing with the auditee organization management in relation to audit / assessment findings
- Ability to work under own initiative and in planning and prioritizing workloads under minimum supervisions
- Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (both spoken and written)
- Good IT skills (eg. Microsoft Office applications, ICT tools for remote audit, etc)
- Tenacious with follow up
- Demonstrate personal integrity and trustworthiness
