Job Description
This individual will be responsible for assessing the overall quality systems for all OGC laboratories in the US. This will consist of using the Test Method Qualification form to see where each laboratory stands, develop a plan to rectify the gaps, follow up and maintain for longevity. The overall goal is to reach ISO 17025 quality requirements in all laboratories which will extend to operations as well. This position will be tasked with method development, writing SOP’s and managing the implementation in each facility in the US. This position will also conduct evaluations, audits and follow up as needed and provide assistance to the National Laboratory Managers.

- Evaluate ASTM, UOP, IP, proprietary methods, etc.
- Formulate a plan of action with the assistance of local laboratory management.
- Ensure proper method and quality process implementation in all US OGC laboratories.
- Update laboratories on changes to Technical Governance requirements and advise management on changes to methods, business and regulations. Facilitate changes to OGC systems and ensure compliance.
- Perform risk assessment and evaluation of all instrumentation through technical audits. Ensure upgrade of equipment and optimum equipment utilization throughout the laboratory network
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to ensure positive interactions with clients, customers, co-workers and management.
- Ensure business lines quality protocols are implemented and maintained.
- Provide technical staff with instrument details, reporting requirements, advanced configuration and development requirements.
- Ensure all laboratory staff understands each method, quality requirement and is trained to full 17025 compliance

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a science field plus five years of experience working in a laboratory environment or equivalent experience of 10 years in a laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 is preferred
- Language Skills: English required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform technical writing for standard operating procedures and known policies
- Must be able to work unsupervised and independently
- Must be able to direct numerous activities at once and be able to work effectively under pressure.
- Must have excellent communications skills.
- Must be available to work weekends and off hours.
- Ability to influence in situations where there is no direct authority.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment – maintaining an objective perspective
