Job Description

  • Job Title: Lead Auditor
  • Job Type: Permanent 
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Travel: Required as part of role to visit Client sites within the Scotland regions
  • Salary: As a Lead Auditor, you’ll receive a competitive salary + Company car / allowance

As a Lead Auditor for SGS you’ll be responsible for planning and conducting professional management system audits in accordance SGS’ procedures to enable delivery of assessment and certification services that meet customer requirements and appropriate accreditation standards

You'll also be responsible for:

  • Conducting audits (desk-based or on client’s sites) in accordance with established procedures, maintaining a high standard of service delivery that ensures effective customer relationships
  • Complete all chargeable work within the required budget and timeframes to ensure customer satisfaction and efficiency of the business
  • Ensure completion of all assigned work and relevant documentation in accordance with required procedures and standards to fulfil customer expectations
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting as required by line management to assist the planning and management of operations
  • Enhance client satisfaction and ensure compliance with standards
  • Undertake personal professional development and ensure appropriate training records and personal logs are updated to maintain relevant auditor registrations and relevant industry knowledge
  • If required, to provide technical support and staff training to all parts of the business to enhance the service capability of the business
  • Promote SGS services (including follow up and/or referral of enquiries, sales visits, assistance at events, seminars, etc) to enable on-going growth of the business

Qualifications

  • Have held positions with significant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management system responsibility.
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge and experience of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 management system standards, compliance and auditing techniques.
  • Have a varied breadth of industry sector experience, ideally across the power generation or steelworks industries.
  • Qualified to Lead Auditor status in multiple management system standards such as 14001 and 9001, and qualified to the latest version of the standard.
