The team
The AI Platform Services (AIPS) teams build platforms and solutions that solve complex information problems and enable AI innovation across the SEEK Group. Our AI Platform Engineering teams provide shared infrastructure, governance, and reusable assets that empower AI and product teams to experiment safely, ship faster, and deliver intelligent experiences at scale.
Teams are cross-functional, multi-disciplinary squads operating within an APAC matrix organisational structure. We work in an Agile environment with regular standups, sprint ceremonies, and collaborative ways of working.
About the role

This role is a senior technical specialist within our AI Platform Services (AIPS) Engineering teams, focused on AI data infrastructure. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be the authority on centralised data platforms for AI/ML workloads, proactively understanding the problems across our AI teams, developing the strategy, advocating for solutions, and delivering outcomes that accelerate AI innovation across SEEK.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the technical strategy for centralised AI data infrastructure across AIPS
- Design scalable data architectures for AI/ML workloads spanning ingestion, transformation, and serving
- Consult with our AI teams to deeply understand data needs and translate them into strategic platform solutions
- Drive data governance, quality, and consistency across AI/ML data pipelines
- Guide Staff Engineers and engineering teams on AI engineering best practices and patterns
- Partner closely with Architecture, Data Services, and Security on data platform decisions
- Advocate for and embed data engineering practices that reduce duplication and increase self-service capability
- Support the Head of Engineering in capacity planning, scoping, and prioritisation of AI platform work, while contributing to the broader AIPS engineering community through knowledge sharing and technical leadership
Qualifications
Skills and experience
- Experience delivering data solutions to real-time ML systems, with a strong understanding of how data engineering overlaps with ML engineering
- Deep data engineering experience across pipelines, data modelling, feature engineering, and data governance at scale
- Strong infrastructure experience with data-focused services and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
- Python proficiency for data platform tooling, pipelines, and integrations
- Demonstrated experience defining and implementing technical strategy that drives cultural and organisational change in the data space, underpinned by a strong understanding of MLOps and the ML lifecycle
- Feature store and vector store implementation experience (or a demonstrated desire to build expertise in this space), along with MLOps or ML lifecycle experience spanning experiment tracking, model deployment, and training-serving consistency
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-agnostic data technologies, building self-service data capabilities for technical teams, and SRE or operational excellence experience for data platform systems
