Job Description

This is a temporary position of 9 months

The Contracts Engineer will own the end-to-end customer order journey: from first click to final delivery.
You'll orchestrate across engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing to turn requirements into reality. Keep customers informed, expectations exceeded, and issues solved before they become problems. You're not just managing orders; you're building trust and delivering excellence at every touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage customer orders and amendments using the MRP system.
  • Provide accurate quotations, pricing, and lead times.
  • Handle order queries and ensure customer requirements are clearly understood.
  • Liaise with customers and internal teams to coordinate deliveries and special requests.
  • Conduct order contract reviews with accuracy and diligence.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to prioritise and progress engineered orders.
  • Work with Quality to investigate and resolve customer complaints.
  • Issue credit notes and manual invoices as required.
  • Manage daily workload to meet priorities, customer expectations, and reduce delays.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the team and wider business.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role (Contracts Engineering or Customer Service in technical industry)
  • Understanding of engineering drawings  
  • Commercial awareness or a background in Customer Service 
  • Knowledge of material pricing 

Desirable  

  • Experience of the valve & actuators industry
