Job Description
We are seeking an experienced finance professional to lead all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, statutory and management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and compliance with internal control policies and procedures. The role also encompasses financial risk management.
As Financial Controller, you will act as a trusted business partner to the Country Manager and the Selling Entity Leadership Team, supporting both operational execution and long-term strategic planning. You will provide clear financial insight and challenge, ensuring strong cost visibility, disciplined forecasting, and alignment with business objectives, while maintaining compliance with financial regulations and Group Accounting Standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational
- Oversee day-to-day financial activities, including revenue recognition, cost accounting, and inventory management.
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of provisions and journal entries.
- Deliver monthly management accounts in line with Group reporting timelines.
- Analyse gross margins across products and business lines, identifying key drivers of performance.
- Support performance reviews by providing clear, insight-driven variance analysis against budget and forecast.
- Partner with commercial and operational teams to drive actions that deliver financial targets.
- Contribute to cost optimisation initiatives and validate realised savings.
- Support effective inventory planning and control processes.
- Review and monitor capital expenditure (CapEx) proposals, ensuring robust financial evaluation.
Control & Governance
- Maintain a robust internal control environment in line with Group policies and standards.
- Provide guidance on technical accounting matters and ensure appropriate application of accounting principles.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to develop and challenge assumptions underpinning forecasts and budgets.
- Lead the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets using the Group consolidation system.
- Monitor performance against plans, providing actionable insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance or accounting; experience within a Big 4 environment is advantageous.
- Advanced Excel and MS Office skills; experience with Power Query and/or Power BI is desirable.
- Experience with ERP systems, including Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations), is strongly preferred.
