Job Description

Are you passionate about operational excellence and sustainability in business travel? Do you thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing, and international environment? We are looking for a Procurement Specialist Business Travel to join our team and make a meaningful impact on our global travel operations.

As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting and optimizing our global travel program. Reporting directly to the Director of Indirect Procurement, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders from different markets and departments.

You are part of the Indirect Procurement Department and you will report to the Director of Indirect Procurement, working closely together with different stakeholders from different markets / countries as well as our Travel Support Coordinator.


The Indirect Procurement function is relatively ‘young’ (department is set up 4 years ago), which makes that there are a lot of opportunities to make an impact. One of our big bets is ‘operational excellence’, for multiple departments we are exploring how to take advantage of AI to improve quality and speed to market.

Key Responsiblities

Global Coordination:

  • Collaborate with travel stakeholders across local markets to ensure policies and travel platform configurations are streamlined and aligned globally. Assess local travel needs and maintain strong communication with travel coordinators in regional offices.

Communication and Engagement:

  • Manage and update centralized communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint or "The Bubble") to share travel updates, FAQs, how-to guides, and travel news. Respond to travel-related policy inquiries efficiently and ensure clear and accessible communication. Over time, evaluate the need for a ticketing system to handle support requests more effectively.

Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Promote eco-friendly travel options and sustainable practices, contributing to the reduction of the company’s carbon footprint.

Cost Efficiency and Vendor Management:

  • Analysis of travel data to identify optimization opportunities in budgets and spending. Assist in vendor negotiations and tender processes to secure favorable contracts.

User Training and Satisfaction:

  • Organize workshops, e-learning courses, and regular training sessions to ensure employees and travel arrangers understand travel policies and effectively use travel platforms.Conduct surveys to gather traveler feedback and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Technology Integration:

  • Explore innovative tools and technologies, such as AI-powered travel management solutions, to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is highly organized, communicative, and proactive. You should be comfortable balancing both operational and hands-on tasks while contributing to strategic travel initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar;
  • > 3 years relevant work experience in a similar role and preferably similar categories (Business/Corporate Travel)
  • Self starter, enthusiastic, hands-on with a getting the job done mentality;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Service minded;
  • Team player with good communication skills.
