The Senior Sustainability Manager is part of the sustainability team that is globally responsible for the overall impact & sustainability strategy of the business. Next to working together with the other sustainability team members, in your role you will work closely with the innovation, sourcing, quality & regulatory and internal control department.

At Rituals, sustainability and impact is one of the strategic pillars for the brand. It is our role to translate societal developments into concrete strategy for the business. This means that in your role you’ll be focusing on developing and implementing new sustainability programs together with the business.

You will report to the Head of Sustainability. The sustainability team consists of 4 people in total and is part of the bigger impact team. At Rituals we have additional dedicated sustainability capacity within the business (f.e. in logistics and store design). The bigger team consists of around 20 people and sits and works together every Friday.

Key responsibilities:

  • You will lead key sustainability programs. Together with the appointed business owners you formulate and update strategy. Amongst others, in the field of biodiversity, water, circularity.
  • You will act as a program manager by implementing strategy in the business and by developing programs with clear responsibilities, data, KPI’s and processes.
  • You are the business owner of the B Corp certification and responsible for translating the new B Corp framework into strategic proposals for long-term ESG strategy.
  • You will coordinate the renewal of the B Corp certification in three years.
  • You will lead other programs relevant for the sustainability team (e.g. impact materiality assessment).

Qualifications

High on energy, low on ego and with a little bit of humor. You are also 'one of a kind' because of your energy and flexibility. In addition, you are a self-starter and have an entrepreneurial mindset with everything you do.

On top of this:

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience (environmental consultancy, ESG strategy), this being in the cosmetics sector is considered a pre.
  • Demonstrated capability to thrive in a complex, entrepreneurial organization.
  • Broad knowledge and experience with a variety of ESG frameworks.
  • Experience with the B Corp certification and thorough knowledge biodiversity frameworks.
  • You can bring your own structure and like to be analytical, data savvy.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • You have a Dutch residence and no restraints to come to the office.
