Join us as a Senior Financial Accountant, where you’ll Provide subject matter expertise (SME) to support the financial accounting team deliver the financial reporting obligations for Rest, trustee and investment special purpose vehicles (corporate entities as well as trusts), ensuring best practice financial controls are implemented and are aligned with the Rest strategy, and supporting ongoing financial reporting deliverables to provide accurate, timely and relevant information on financial and governance related matters.. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of financial reporting and tax-related returns for Rest Group entities, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, accounting standards and internal Rest policies, and assisting with other ad hoc or emerging financial reporting tasks as required.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with administrators, custodians, auditors and internal stakeholders to support the delivery of financial reporting obligations and strategic initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement and team capability development by implementing better systems, processes and reporting practices to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls and enhance quality of financial reporting deliverables.
- Conduct analysis of accounting and financial matters and preparation of relevant papers to support the basis on which Rest Group entities have prepared financial reporting.
- Support in managing the year-end timetable across Rest’s group of entities to ensure that all stakeholders (both internal and external) deliver according to agreed timelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce (Accounting major preferred).
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Demonstrated experience in financial services, professional services firm or a superannuation fund.
Required experience, understanding or credentials including:
- Strong knowledge and experience in financial and regulatory taxation reporting – experience in financial reporting for a Superannuation fund is desirable but not compulsory.
- Ability to apply accounting standards and financial policies to complex arrangements
- Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently.
