The Investments Team is on a significant transformation journey, with a clear goal: to be the leading investment team in Australian super, with a strong member focus and superior investment performance.

We are looking for an Application Support Specialist to help make that happen.

This is a hands-on role at the centre of our investment technology stack, with Charles River IMS (CRIMS) as our core front-to-back investment management system.

You will support critical investment workflows across a suite of specialist applications, including FactSet, Bloomberg and S&P iLevel.

What you will do

  • Be the SME for CRIMS configuration across workflows, trade lifecycle, compliance rules, reference data, security master, and key integrations.
  • Support end-to-end investment operations in CRIMS: order management, compliance monitoring, execution, post-trade processing, settlement support, and exception management.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across configuration, data and integrations, working with upstream and downstream platforms (market data, IBOR/ABOR, data services).
  • Partner closely with vendors and internal delivery teams on implementations, upgrades and enhancements.
  • Drive release planning and transition into stable BAU support (readiness, deployments, regression testing, handover).
  • Lead incident triage and escalation, run root cause analysis, and improve monitoring and alerting.
  • Maintain strong governance: access controls, DR testing, continuity procedures, and audit-ready documentation aligned to CPS 230 and CPS 234.
  • Build and maintain practical runbooks, SOPs, support models, and knowledge base content.

What you will bring

  • Strong, hands-on experience supporting Charles River IMS in production, including configuration and operational workflows.
  • Proven understanding across key asset classes in CRIMS (equities, fixed income, cash, futures, FX, exchange-traded and OTC derivatives) and the full trade lifecycle.
  • Confidence working in an asset owner or asset manager environment, partnering with investment operations, compliance, risk and data teams.
  • A calm, structured approach to incident management, prioritisation, and stakeholder communication.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, you look for smarter, faster, more resilient ways to support the platform.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary or relevant qualification in Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline. 
  • Demonstrated experience of hands-on experience in application support across front, middle, and back-office investment systems. 

Required experience, understanding or credentials including:.

  • Proven experience supporting core investment platforms such as CRIMS, BlackRock Aladdin, SimCorp Dimension, and Investment data solutions e.g. Snowflake or similar systems within an asset owner, asset manager, or superannuation fund environment. 
  • Strong familiarity with incident and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence) and experience operating within an ITIL-aligned service delivery framework. 
  • Understanding of integration architectures, API ecosystems, and cloud-based infrastructures (e.g., SaaS, Azure, AWS). 
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python and VBA/Macros, with experience handling investment data extraction and analysis.
