The Scrum Master has two main accountabilities:
- Successfully embedding scrum in two new teams.
- Coaching the teams to ensure Product Owner can successfully deliver business outcomes.
The role is to provide servant leadership to a cross-functional team who will be developing changes to Rest’s digital channels and platforms to support the delivery of Rests ‘Super Simple’ strategy. The scrum master will ensure that new delivery governance is being for the teams including alignment of the product backlog to overall organisational strategy.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Perform the role of team facilitator: responsible for facilitating the Scrum meetings including daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospectives meetings. The primary focus is to help the team stay focused and productive during these meetings.
- Perform the role of Servant Leader: The primary focus is to serve the Scrum team, which includes removing any impediments or obstacles that the team may encounter during the sprint.
- Provide Agile Coaching: Assists the team in adhering to Agile principles and practices by coaching team members, stakeholders, and the product owner on how to effectively apply Scrum in their day-to-day tasks.
- Ensure Project Governance is followed: Adherence to Rest delivery methodology and governance framework to ensure stakeholders have a clear understanding of their role and that the required decision making and escalation processes are in place to help achieve the required outcomes. This includes financial, risk and benefit management aligned with target operating model.
- Maintaining the backlog and releases
- Utilizing technical expertise to break down epics into actionable user stories
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications & certifications
- Scrum Master Certification
Required experience, understanding or credentials including:
- At least 2 years scrum master experience
- Strong scrum master capability including demonstrated ability to lead teams and implement technology led solutions.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, consultation and negotiation skills
- Able to foster and maintain collaborative working relationships both within and outside the organisation.
- Knowledge of the Superannuation and/or Financial Services Industries, key technical trends and understanding of how the technology systems and solutions support business operations.
- Having experience working on data projects and within investments
