🚀 Test Leader (Team Manager) – Automation – £65K - £70K plus benefits – Bristol or Birmingham Hybrid (2 days onsite within commutable distance of Bristol / Birmingham)

🌟 The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Test Lead / Team Manager to join a high-performing delivery team, leading the testing strategy across a range of impactful digital projects.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical automation expertise with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams. You’ll play a key role in shaping testing approaches, improving quality practices, and ensuring successful delivery across the full software lifecycle.

🧩 What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and coordinate testing activities across one or more projects
• Define and implement test strategies and automation frameworks
• Work closely with engineering, product, and delivery teams
• Provide clear quality insights and reporting to stakeholders
• Drive best practices in automation and QA
• Mentor and support testers, helping to grow team capability
• Contribute to estimation, planning, and continuous improvement

🛠️ What We’re Looking For

✅ Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Test Lead / Senior QA
• Strong hands-on experience with test automation tools such as:
  • Cypress
  • Selenium
  • Cucumber / Robot Framework
• Experience building and maintaining scalable automation frameworks
• Demonstrable team leadership or mentoring experience

🔧 Technical Environment

• CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Cloud platforms (AWS or similar)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible – desirable)

🤝 Soft Skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
• Collaborative mindset with experience in Agile environments
• Proactive problem solver with attention to detail
