Job Description
In this role, you will lead a team of product definers and applications engineers for supporting DC-DC power products for industrial and enterprise server market. In this leadership role, you will interface with customers to understand their usage of DC-DC converters to lead the definition and roadmap for next-gen products. This is a highly hands-on technical leadership role where you will work directly with customers to solve complex system-level power challenges and drive adoption of Renesas solutions. You will provide technical leadership across design, validation, marketing, and field organizations to deliver differentiated power solutions.
Principal Accountabilities
- Partner with customers, sales, and marketing to identify emerging market trends and translate customer requirements into product roadmaps and technology investments for enterprise server market.
- Collaborate with customers, sales, product line marketing, applications, design and validation engineers to define architecture and specifications.
- Build, mentor and develop a high-performing systems & applications team, establishing technical excellence in the following areas:
- Customer focused execution to build innovative products which solve system problems.
- Benchmark existing solutions to understand the state of the art.
- Silicon bring up and testing of key system performance parameters.
- Design and develop proof-of-concepts and reference designs of power solutions for server market.
- Develop calculators, simulation models, datasheet for releasing new products to market.
- Perform system-level analysis for power integrity, thermal performance, and fault response.
- Create application notes and reference designs demonstrating new products in real-world use cases.
- Support customers and internal teams with design reviews and debugging for product adoption.
- Support customers in usage of released products and solving any problems which arise when using these products.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Masters/PhD in Electrical or Electronics engineering with 15+ years experience
- Strong expertise in power electronics including DC-DC converters.
- Experience in direct interface with sales and customers to lead the product roadmap.
- Expertise in analog circuits, control theory and feedback loop analysis.
- Hands-on experience with PCB schematics/layout and CAD tools.
- Familiarity with power integrity analysis and simulation tools (PSpice, Simplis, MATLAB).
- Skilled in lab debugging and validation techniques.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support customer engagements and strategic business initiatives.
Preferred
- Proven experience leading and developing a Systems, Applications, or Power Architecture team of 4-8 engineers in a semiconductor or power electronics environment.
- Experience with server/telecom power architectures.
- Experience with digital communications protocols like I2C, PMBus etc.
- Experience with generating collateral like datasheets, user guides and training & promotion materials.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
