Director of Compute & Storage, IT Infrastructure

  • Full-time
  • Employment Type: Regular (PERM)
  • Remote Work Available: No

Job Description

Join us to drive our global compute and storage organisation that powers world-class semiconductor design and manufacturing. This is your chance to shape strategy, lead large-scale transformation, and deliver infrastructure that engineers and factories rely on every day.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced infrastructure leader who wants to shape the future of compute and storage services in a global technology organisation. You will lead a broad and business-critical estate spanning Electronic Design Automation (EDA) infrastructure, virtual infrastructure, enterprise systems, and manufacturing systems, with the opportunity to influence strategy, operating model, and long-term service direction.

Based in Japan, you will play a central role in bringing together global standards, regional delivery, and local business requirements to build a scalable, resilient, and high-performing Compute & Storage function.

What You'll Do

As Director of Compute & Storage, you will set the vision and lead the end-to-end strategy for services that are fundamental to engineering, enterprise operations, and manufacturing. You will oversee a diverse and complex infrastructure landscape, ensuring that services are reliable, efficient, scalable, and aligned to business priorities.

You will work closely with IT leadership, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive service maturity, improve governance, and strengthen operational performance. This role offers the chance to lead through change, develop strong leadership teams, and help define how compute and storage services evolve in support of a global organisation.

Key Responsibilties:

• Lead the strategy, execution, and governance of Compute & Storage services across EDA/HPC infrastructure, virtual infrastructure, enterprise platforms, and manufacturing environments.

• Shape a clear and sustainable operating model that supports global consistency while meeting regional and local business needs.

• Oversee architecture, service operations, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement across the Compute & Storage domain.

• Lead the transition and ongoing development of the EDA/HPC infrastructure domain, ensuring strong alignment with business priorities and global infrastructure strategy.

• Build, coach, and develop senior leaders across key service areas, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

• Partner with senior stakeholders across Infrastructure, Information Systems, and engineering teams to align investment, priorities, and service outcomes.

Qualifications

Who You Are

You are a strategic and hands-on infrastructure leader who can translate complex technical environments into clear direction, strong execution, and measurable business value. You are comfortable operating across global and regional structures, building alignment among senior stakeholders, and leading teams through growth and change.

You combine deep infrastructure leadership experience with strong judgement, collaboration, and a practical approach to delivery. You are equally comfortable setting long-term direction and driving operational excellence day to day.

What We're Looking For

• Significant leadership experience in IT infrastructure across compute, storage, data centre, or similarly complex environments.

• A strong track record of leading both strategy and execution at Director level or in a comparable senior leadership role.

• Experience partnering effectively with engineering organisations and cross-functional stakeholders on infrastructure priorities.

• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills across global, regional, and local teams.

• Business-level or higher proficiency in both Japanese and English.

Why you should join us

• Deliver Enterprise leadership: Partner with senior leaders to set direction, align investment, and deliver outcomes that matter.

• Lead through change: Drive service transformation, strengthen governance, and build a high-performing operating model across global regions.

• Grow leadership and culture: Coach senior managers, shape accountability, and develop talent to sustain performance at scale.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in managing or operating Electronic Design Automation (EDA) or other High-Performance Computing environments (HPC)

• Experience leading organisational change and technical transformation in the areas of compute and storage

• Exposure to manufacturing or other mission-critical infrastructure environments.

• Experience of delivering or managing hybrid Cloud solutions

• Experience in managing operations for large scale Linux and Windows environments

• A good understanding of large-scale NAS storage environments
