Company Description
The Category & Shopper Insights Manager owns category and shopper insights for Red Bull in Egypt. This person is the go-to for anything related to category performance, sell-out data, shopper behavior and promo effectiveness. The role is a mix of hands-on analysis and getting in front of retailers and internal teams to land recommendations that can be translated into actions. It covers category analysis, Category Management projects, retail audit and sell-out data, portfolio and promo evaluation, and shopper research.
Job Description
Category Analysis & Insights
- Track and analyze the energy category; what's growing, what's not, and why.
- Build category stories and selling decks the key account team can take into retailer meetings.
- Support range reviews and joint business planning with solid data behind every recommendation.
Category Management Projects
- Lead CatMan projects with key retailers; assortment reviews, planogram and space planning, shelf layout, and flow.
- Work face to face with retailer category teams to improve category performance in their stores and position Red Bull as the preferred category partner.
- For non-top customers, provide initiatives and support to Key Account Managers so they can implement them themselves.
Retail Audit & Sell-Out Data
- Manage our data providers; contracts, quality, coverage.
- Own the regular reporting: share, distribution, pricing, rate of sale. Flag what needs attention before it becomes a problem.
- Handle ad-hoc deep dives for sales and marketing when questions come up.
Portfolio & Promo
- Analyze SKU and pack performance to guide range decisions; what to push, what to fix, what to delist.
- Evaluate promos: what's working, what's not, and how we should adjust depth, frequency, and mechanics by channel.
- Feed insights into the annual business plan.
Shopper Research
- Brief and manage shopper research with agencies; purchase decision trees, path to purchase, shopper missions, segmentation.
- Turn findings into practical in-store recommendations: assortment, placement, activation.
- Make sure shopper learnings properly reach the people who need them: trade marketing, key accounts, and field sales.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in category management, shopper insights, or commercial analytics.
- FMCG background is a must, beverage industry is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with retail audit and sell-out data (e.g., Nielsen, retailer EPOS/loyalty data).
- Experience running Category Management projects with retailers, including space and assortment work.
- Experience briefing and applying shopper research with agencies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable stories.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and retail customers.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) are a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively across sales, marketing, and trade marketing teams.
- Proactive and organized; able to balance regular reporting, projects, and ad-hoc requests.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
