We are on the look out for a social video enthusiast to join our team as a Content Creator, where you will play a key role in our Reach youth strategy by creating short and long-form social videos that are engaging, informative, and entertaining for the Curiously & Hear Me Out audiences. Curiously is a female-focused Gen Z video brand, ‘On the Pulse of Pop Culture’, meanwhile Hear Me Out is a progressive short-form vertical video brand focused on ‘Where Politics Meets Pop Culture’, and so you will need to be comfortable with covering a wide variety of topics within the pop culture and political spheres, and be comfortable both in front of and behind the camera.

You will leverage your understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat, along with digital media trends, to engage viewers, drive monetisation and enhance the overall reach and impact of our editorial output. This position allows for true creativity, we want you to generate and pitch story ideas, research, and script vertical video content specifically tailored for TikTok, Instagram reels, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat, and Facebook reels. You’ll also pitch for interviews, travel for key events and video interview opportunities for news coverage and formats, where required.

What you need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have strong social video experience (short & long form) preferably coming from an editorial background. You will be passionate and creative, with demonstrated ability to deliver compelling and promotable stories through video. You’ll have the ability to inject personality into content and strike the right tone where appropriate. We are open to people looking to step up into this role, or experienced Content Creators wanting to pivot into a new challenge.

You will have experience of filming, editing and producing creative, engaging social video content tailored for specific platforms, and will be comfortable both in front of and behind the camera. We are looking for a strong video editor with experience with software such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro. You will be required to travel to London where required for interviews, and so flexibility to commute will be essential. This is predominantly a Monday to Friday 9-5 position, however you will need to be flexible to work some weekends, early shifts and evening shifts where required.

A qualification in Journalism (NCTJ) & Media Law knowledge is highly desirable, but not essential.
