We are looking for an Affiliates Multimedia Journalist to join our South West news team, creating engaging affiliate shopping content for DevonLive, CornwallLive, PlymouthLive, BristolLive, SomersetLive and GloucestershireLive. This is an exciting opportunity to publish revenue generating video, social media, written form and other multimedia content, including affiliate links that provide our South West readers with up to date and honest reviews about trending products, new releases and money saving deals.

This role is home based, however due to the nature of the role we are looking for candidates based anywhere in the South West of the UK.

What will the role involve?

You will play a pivotal role in our news team and our plans to grow our affiliate content, by writing engaging and informative reviews and social content, covering a variety of shopping areas including home goods, beauty, tech, fashion, cleaning and much more. You will find new and innovative ways to promote your content off-platform especially around major affiliate opportunities including Black Friday, concert launches, Amazon Prime Day and more.

You will research, write and publish high quality articles, first person video reviews, live blogs and buying guides that help save our readers time and money, becoming a trusted name and authority for consumer tips and recommendations. You will utilise our suite of analytical tools including but not limited to Trackonomics, Chartbeat, Google Trends to identify opportunities for commercial content. You will create and implement content plans to drive traffic, ensuring you meet daily revenue targets with ease. This role will involve working shifts on a rota basis including some evenings and weekends, so a flexible approach is required.

Who are we looking for?

You are an NCTJ qualified journalist or equivalent with UK media law knowledge and proven experience creating affiliate content in a newsroom or for social media. You ideally have an existing social following who rely on your recommendations, or you are keen to develop a following of your own. You may have a niche but dedicated following, looking to expand your audience and areas of expertise. Alternatively, you might be an experienced, all-round affiliate writer looking to increase your on-camera review work and develop your personal brand. You have a good understanding of affiliate content and are brimming with pitches for exciting new audience led content. You have a keen eye for spotting trending viral products on platforms like TikTok, that you think our readers would be interested in.

You are ready to step both in front and behind the camera, using your knowledge of social media platforms to create engaging social videos to accompany your written content. You are a first class writer who can create accurate content at pace and meet deadlines with ease.
