  • Location: Home & Hub - London
  • Division: Editorial
  • Salary Currency: GBP Sterling

Company Description

We are looking for an Engagement Producer to join us at The Mirror. This role owns day‑to‑day distribution across social, newsletters and apps, translating strategy into slick execution that grows audience, subscriptions and registrations.

You will be a social media mastermind, utilising various platforms including Facebook, TikTok, Threads, Whatsapp and more to drive engagement to build revenue. You’ll curate high‑impact newsletters, launch engagement initiatives to convert casual readers into registered users, and find fresh off‑platform routes to amplify content after publication.

With a test‑and‑learn mindset, you’ll analyse engagement metrics across channels to optimise tactics, provide agile cover for Audience Editors when needed, and stay ahead of digital trends - recommending new tools and channels while championing best practice to boost reach, loyalty and conversion.

This role is home & hub based, linked to our London Hub. We are therefore open to candidates based in and around London.

About us

Hello, we’re Reach. Every day, our trusted news, stories and content connect with millions of people where they live - whether that’s on their social feed or at their neighbourhood newsstand; through their local community or their take on the hot topic of the day.

We're home to more than 120 trusted brands - from household names like the Mirror, Express, Daily Star and Daily Record, to local titles like MyLondon, BelfastLive, and the Manchester Evening News, and brands making a splash in the US like the Irish Star.

It's our ability to understand people and the things that matter to them that makes us the UK and Ireland's largest commercial news publisher. We reach 70% of the UK's online population and speak to over 100 million social followers around the world. And we’re just getting started…

Your story, with Reach

As a modern media organisation, we're much more than just news. And it takes a wide range of people and skills to serve diverse audiences, customers and communities like we do.

We know everyone has their own story to tell, so we’ve built an environment where every background is respected and every day is a day to explore.

We’ll help you build a career that works with your life, while giving you the space to create and grow.

What will the role involve?

You will be part of a team of Engagement Producers who oversee the Mirror’s social media presence, managing and growing channels across Facebook, TikTok, Threads, Instagram and WhatsApp, championing best practice to drive meaningful engagement, reach and habit. You will curate and optimise newsletters that convert casual readers into loyal subscribers. You will design and deliver engagement initiatives such as polls, Q&As and live threads to grow registered users and deepen community loyalty. You will find inventive, data-led ways to promote content post-publication, recirculate evergreen pieces and surface stories to new readers across off-platform channels and apps.

Using your sharp analytical mindset, you will utilise engagement metrics from every platform to refine headlines, thumbnails, formats and posting schedules for maximum impact. You are adaptable and collaborative, providing cover for audience editors if needed. You will stay ahead of digital trends and can recommend new tools or channels that expand our reach and sharpen our storytelling. You will responsibly utilise AI tools, in line with company policies, to improve accuracy and efficiency and create engaging content that resonates with our audiences.

You will tailor content to the unique demands of each off-platform channel, ensuring stories travel further and perform better, considering the role of audio and video on every story, capturing or curating basic footage where appropriate to engage audiences in fresh, dynamic ways. You will play your part in building a diverse and inclusive organisation that reflects the communities and people we serve.

Who are we looking for?

You are passionate and creative with unbeatable social media skills, especially on Facebook, where you have experience turning engagement into measurable revenue. You have expert, platform-specific knowledge across all major social media platforms and a sharp understanding of the audiences who use them. You are fluent in digital publishing and can work confidently with a CMS.

You have a proven track record of building communities with a meaningful following, growing engaged audiences who return, share and subscribe. You are passionate about digital storytelling in journalism and have an instinctive grasp of the Mirror brand, tone and values. You communicate clearly, work brilliantly in a team, manage your time expertly and remain professional under pressure. You can adapt quickly to the needs of the business, moving from idea to execution with speed and care.
