Join the Reach Printing Services team in Glasgow as a Printer No. 2!
In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring all equipment within the Presshall. You'll also take charge of performing remedial and calibration work as needed. We are looking for someone with web offset printing experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You'll have the opportunity to work independently or as part of a team, relying on your initiative to prioritise tasks in collaboration with the Pressroom Shift Manager.
Please note that this position operates on a night shift schedule, following a 4 on, 4 off rota.

- S.S.O.W Awareness: Stay informed and compliant with Safe Systems of Work to ensure a secure and efficient working environment.
- Reelstand Operations: Manage and operate the reelstand efficiently, ensuring smooth production flow.
- Reelstand Control Panel Adjustments: Make necessary adjustments to the control panel to optimise performance.
- Understanding Impositions: Grasp the intricacies of impositions to ensure accurate print layouts and quality.
- Plating and De-plating Press: Handle the plating and de-plating process with precision for seamless transitions.
- Press Set Up and Presets: Prepare and configure the press for each job, ensuring all presets are correctly applied.
- Folder Settings and Adjustments: Fine-tune folder settings for optimal output and quality.
- Restart Press and Achieve Good Copy from Hot: Efficiently restart the press and produce high-quality copies even from hot starts.
- Set and Maintain Web Tensions: Ensure web tensions are correctly set and maintained for consistent print quality.
- Maintain Ink / Water Balance: Keep a keen eye on maintaining the perfect ink and water balance for vibrant prints.
- Monitor Quality and Adjust Register Controls: Continuously monitor print quality, making necessary adjustments to register controls for precise results.
- Carry Out All Aspects of R&C: Execute all responsibilities related to Remedial and Calibration with diligence.
Qualifications
- Experience in Press Operations to No2 level
- An NVQ Level 2 in press operations is desirable but not essential
- Drive and commitment with an ability to work shifts
- Excellent communication skills verbal/written/practical
- Team player with the ability to lead a team
- A good awareness of HSE standards and regulations.
- Be attentive to detail and focussed on quality
- Computer literate
- An understanding of manufacturing best practice and lean principles and tools – Desirable
