Job Description

We are seeking a Learning Content Developer to work for the learning content development team of ASCENT.  The position is responsible for developing and maintaining learning content focused on the Spatial Business System’s Automated Utility Design (AUD) and Substation Design Suite (SDS) engineering and design software used by electric, gas, and water utilities, telecom organizations, and AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) firms. The content is utilized for both web-based and instructor-led training.  

As a Learning Content Developer, you will create impact by:

  • Creating new learning content for print and eLearning products offered for global sales
  • Updating existing learning content to encompass new and enhanced functionality in current releases of the software tools
  • Creating client-specific custom learning content
  • Supporting our sales teams by fielding technical questions related to the learning content
  • Supporting our sales teams with assessments of client learning needs and proposal creation
  • Creating blog posts showcasing your breadth of knowledge and the capabilities of our team
  • Leading webcasts that demonstrate the quality and effectiveness of our learning content

 

Qualifications

About You

  • A post-secondary education in an engineering discipline, or strong technical knowledge
  • A general understanding of the Electric Distribution, Transmission, and Substation design domains.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using software products from Autodesk, including but not limited to AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, and Inventor.
  • Experience using or familiarity with software products from Spatial Business Systems (SBS), including but not limited to Automated Utility Design (AUD) and Substation Design Suite (SDS) would be an asset.
  • Excellent English writing skills, such as those used in developing learning content or documentation is essential
  • Experience coaching or teaching others is preferred
