Job Description

Join the dedicated Cardiac Cath Lab team at Greenslopes Private Hospital as a Full-Time Registered Nurse and play an important role in delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide safe, patient-centred nursing care throughout the procedural journey, supporting patients before, during and following cardiac catheterisation procedures.

This is an opportunity to work in a specialised clinical environment while developing your expertise in cardiac catheterisation and procedural nursing.

About You

You are a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with a strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. You have excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills and are confident working in a fast-paced procedural environment.

You communicate effectively with patients, families and members of the multidisciplinary team and are able to remain calm and responsive when caring for patients undergoing complex cardiac procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation and interventional procedures.
  • Assess, monitor and evaluate patients before, during and following procedures.
  • Prepare patients for cardiac catheterisation procedures and ensure appropriate pre-procedure checks are completed.
  • Assist the medical team during cardiac procedures within your scope of practice.
  • Monitor patients' clinical condition and recognise and respond appropriately to changes in health status.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate monitoring and documentation throughout the patient's procedural journey.
  • Provide post-procedure care, monitoring and patient education.
  • Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control and procedural safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff and the broader multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure equipment and clinical environments are prepared and maintained appropriately.
  • Escalate clinical concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Participate in education, professional development and quality improvement activities

You Will Also Bring

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Minimum 12 months' post-registration nursing experience – essential.
  • Previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, cardiac nursing or a similar procedural environment is highly regarded.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Sound knowledge of cardiac patient care and procedural nursing is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong patient-centred approach and commitment to quality care.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety, infection prevention and professional practice.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to work within relevant policies, procedures and scope of practice.
