Lead the growth of clinical trials and research at Greenslopes

Greenslopes Private Hospital is continuing to grow its clinical research capability, and we’re looking for an experienced Clinical Trials & Research Manager to lead our Clinical Trials Unit.

This is a senior, site-based leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day operation, performance and growth of the Greenslopes Clinical Trials Unit across a broad range of therapeutic areas.

You’ll lead the establishment and conduct of clinical trials at the site, with a particular focus on growing our haematology and oncology portfolio, including complex early-phase and first-in-human studies.

As the senior research leader at Greenslopes, you’ll bring together clinical expertise, operational leadership and commercial awareness to build a high-performing research environment. You’ll work closely with Principal Investigators, sponsors, clinicians, hospital executives and the broader Ramsay Research & Development Network to ensure the site is recognised as a high-quality destination for clinical research.

What you’ll be doing

This is a broad leadership role combining clinical trials expertise, people leadership, site operations and research growth.

You will:

• Lead the day-to-day operation and performance of the Greenslopes Clinical Trials Unit across all therapeutic areas.
• Lead the establishment and conduct of haematology and oncology clinical trials, including complex early-phase and first-in-human studies.
• Work closely with Principal Investigators to plan and deliver studies, resolve operational challenges and maintain strong sponsor relationships.
• Lead trial feasibility, ethics and governance submissions, site initiation and activation activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, investigators, clinicians, hospital executives, vendors and the wider Ramsay Research & Development Network.
• Identify opportunities to expand research activity and increase the visibility of clinical research across the hospital.
• Lead, develop and mentor the Clinical Trials Unit team, building capability and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Manage clinical trial budgets, contracts, invoicing and financial performance, ensuring studies are delivered efficiently and within agreed budgets.
• Develop and maintain the systems, processes, SOPs and documentation required to support a growing research unit.
• Maintain oversight of quality, regulatory compliance and audit readiness, ensuring research is conducted safely, ethically and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice.
• Work collaboratively with the broader Ramsay clinical teams to support patient identification, recruitment and the delivery of trial-related care.
• Contribute to the continued development of the Ramsay Research & Development Network and collaboration across clinical trial sites.

About you

You’re an experienced clinical research professional who enjoys combining hands-on clinical trials expertise with leadership and operational responsibility.

You’ll bring:

• Relevant qualifications in research, nursing, medical science or an allied health discipline.
• Substantial experience coordinating and managing clinical trials, including experience in haematology and/or oncology.
• Demonstrated experience with complex early-phase or first-in-human studies.
• Experience establishing or managing a clinical trials unit or research site, from feasibility and governance through to activation and ongoing delivery.
• Experience leading, developing and mentoring a clinical research team.
• Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant clinical research standards.
• Experience managing clinical trial budgets and contracts, with accountability for financial performance.
• The ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and make operational decisions in a complex environment.
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
• A genuine commitment to patient-centred care, research integrity and the safe and ethical conduct of clinical research.

Experience with cell-based therapies, immunotherapy or other complex investigational products, establishing a new research unit, developing quality systems or working with clinical trial management systems will be highly regarded.
