An exciting opportunity is available for a Dietitian to join the team on a part-time, maximum-term contract until 1 August 2027.
About Role:
In this Dietitian role you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic services across the hospital, supporting both inpatient care and broader multidisciplinary service delivery. The role involves clinical assessment and management of patients, provision of group education programs, and collaboration with clinical teams and Food Services to optimise patient outcomes. You will contribute to service planning, quality improvement initiatives, and the achievement of organisational objectives, while also supporting education and training of students and staff. This position requires strong clinical expertise, effective communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within a specialised eating disorder service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide an effective nutrition and dietetic service to patients within legislative, evidence-based practice, education, and clinical competency frameworks.
- Deliver dietetic services across all areas of the hospital, including inpatient and outpatient services, with close collaboration with Food Services/Catering.
- Provide group education programs as required.
- Support the relevant Manager/Managers in the effective delivery of dietetic services across the hospital.
- Contribute to achieving individual, team, and departmental goals, ensuring alignment with organisational vision, mission, and values.
- Provide education and training to undergraduate students, junior dietetic staff, and broader multidisciplinary staff as appropriate.
About You:
- Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, or a Bachelor of Science with a postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics, or equivalent qualification.
- Eligibility for membership with Dietitians Australia and Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status.
- Registration with the Dietitian Board (as applicable).
- ANZAED Credentialed Eating Disorder Dietitian (or working towards credentialing).
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver effective dietetics services to eating disorder patients including tailored individual’s plan.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to perform effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and creative thinking.
- Advanced clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the specialty area.
- Strong understanding of relevant accreditation standards and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and establish measurable departmental objectives
- Minimum of two years’ post-graduate experience, or relevant experience in a senior clinician role is desirable.
- Previous experience working in an inpatient eating disorder setting is desirable.
