Job Description

To provide high-quality administrative support to the clinical team, patients, families, and carers within the Keith Payne Unit, a specialised Mental Health service supporting DVA veterans.

This role is responsible for coordinating administrative functions throughout the patient journey, from admission to discharge, while delivering exceptional customer service for both in and out- patient services.

Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a collaborative team approach are essential to success in this position.

We have an exciting opening for experienced and professional Admissions Secretary to join our Patient Admission team in the Keith Payne Unit (Mental health facility).

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Delivering a superior level of customer service to patients, visitors and internal clients.

• Addressing patient and doctor inquiries

• Handling all administrative tasks related to patient admissions and discharges

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a well-presented individual who possesses highly developed organisational and communication skills, is flexible with ability to support the operation and excels in a multi-disciplined team environment.

Must be available to work between the hours of 6am – 6pm (shifts vary), including some possible weekends and public holidays.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain good working relations with others.

• High degree of attention to detail and accuracy

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft, Excel and Outlook.

• Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

• Proven organisational skills.

• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology (desirable)

• Previous experience in mental health environments (highly desirable)

• Previous admin reception experience for both in and/or out- patient clinics or departments  (highly desirable)
