Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to specialise in Neuro-Surgical interventions the team at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, this is an advanced clinical role that combines expert bedside care with shift-level leadership and a commitment to ongoing staff development.
As Clinical Nurse, you will act as a senior clinical resource, team leader and professional role model, supporting the nursing team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across your designated unit. You will manage rapidly changing clinical situations with sound judgement, maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and contribute to the continuous improvement of care standards.
In this role you will:
- Provide advanced, evidence-based nursing care and serve as the primary clinical resource for your shift and unit.
- Coordinate patient flow, delegate appropriately and support the broader nursing team to deliver safe, consistent care.
- Act as a positive role model and mentor to junior nursing staff, graduate nurses and students, supporting their professional development.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits and accreditation activities in line with Ramsay standards and relevant legislation.
- Participate in departmental orientation, in-service training and clinical competency programs.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical documentation in line with NMBA standards and Ramsay Health Care policy.
About You
You are an experienced, clinically confident Registered Nurse with experience in the care and conditions of Neuro-surgical treatments, ready to take a leadership step. You bring sound clinical expertise, strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to supporting your team and patients. You will also demonstrate:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (essential).
- Minimum four (4) years' post-graduate nursing experience in an neurological acute-surgical environment, or relevant discipline (essential).
- Demonstrated clinical leadership ability, including shift coordination and team support.
- A commitment to mentoring junior staff and contributing to a positive, learning-focused team culture.
- Sound knowledge of and participation in quality improvement processes.
- Strong time management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high standard of customer-focused service.
- Knowledge of legislation, standards and policies relevant to nursing practice in Australia.
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications in a specialty area (highly regarded).
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including mornings, afternoons and weekends.
