The Opportunity

Working within our Ramsay Health Plus outpatient department, a multidisciplinary Allied Health Practice located at Hollywood Private Hospital. You will manage all necessary clerical requirements of reception services for our patients who are undergoing Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Speech Pathology and Dietetics.

As a receptionist, your day will be varied and will include scheduling, contacting patients to arrange appointments, billings and day-to-day administrative duties.

 

We are seeking a person to work on occasional days as well as leave relief. We are looking for someone available to work on an as-needed basis, including occasional shifts and leave cover.

  • You would ideally have experience in a private practice and the capability to effectively support and meet the needs of a number of customers, patients and staff.
  • You will be a positive, responsible, self-motivated person with excellent people and telephone skills.
  • You will have strong focus on detail, highly developed relationship skills, a commitment to customer service, a ‘can do’ approach, and above all, an unwavering commitment to client confidentiality and privacy. 
  • You will be required to undertake duties as part of a team, working collaboratively and sharing roles and responsibilities.

Reporting to the Practice Manager/Team Leader, you will work amongst a friendly and supportive team while maintaining positive relationships and strong communication networks with all staff and customers.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a confident professional, interested in working within a health setting with a passion for customer service. The ability to converse and be empathetic while managing a busy flow of patients, telephone calls, bookings, and staff queries is a necessary skill needed for this role.

 

Essential criteria:

  • Previous medical practice receptionist experience
  • Proficient user and understanding of patient management systems (software e.g. Genie, Nookal)
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft suite of programs
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to complete tasks within designated timeframes
  • Demonstrated problem – solving skills
  • Ability to actively liaise with staff and patients to ensure the information process is completed accurately and conducted professionally and efficiently. 
  • You will have strong focus on detail, highly developed relationship skills, a commitment to customer service, a ‘can do’ approach, and above all, an unwavering commitment to client confidentiality and privacy. 

 

Desirable criteria:

  • Certificate III in Business Administration or similar
  • Medical Receptionist course
  • Certificate in Medical Terminology.

 

Remuneration: On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $35.85 + casual leave loading +superannuation + levels of experience and qualification.

Additional Information

  • Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.
