Job Description
Ramsay Health Care is seeking a full-time Senior Clinical Trial Coordinator who will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of clinical trial activities at Hollywood Private Hospital.
The Clinical Trials & Research Unit at Hollywood Private Hospital currently undertakes a range of trials across several disciplines, including haematology, oncology and cardiology, with the expectation that the unit will continue to expand and offer services to other clinical disciplines within the Hospital.
Reporting to the Clinical Trials & Research Manager, the successful applicants will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the clinical trials they have been assigned as well as management of Clinical Trial Coordinators
Key Responsibilities include:
- Coordination of patient visits in accordance with the clinical trial protocol
- Coordination of data collection and reporting for the clinical trial
- Assist with start-up processes for clinical trials, ensuring the site can be activated as quicky as possible
- Participate in the National Clinical Trials Network, attending national meetings and working collaboratively within the network to develop clinical trials within Ramsay Health Care
- Develop, implement and maintain systems to support the operational activities of the clinical trials unit as required by the site and the national team
- Active engagement with key sponsors and key doctor groups
- Management and support of ethics and governance activities and administrative activities associated with the study.
- Leading a small team of coordinators.
The role is dynamic and challenging and presents an opportunity to work with a highly engaged group of doctors. You will be given the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of a leading Clinical Trials & Research Unit and the broader Ramsay Clinical Trials Network.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and experience:
- Degree qualified in Nursing, Allied Health or Research. Postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
- Experience in patient facing clinical trials or clinical research activities, with prior experience in the recruitment of patients and the collection and management of clinical trial data.
- Experience in managing oncology or haematology trials would be ideal.
- Experience working with busy clinicians and the ability to effectively manage workload within a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication, time management and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise activities and manage competing priorities
- Proven ability to establish and manage relationships with clinicians, sponsors/CROs and key stakeholders at all levels.
- Leadership experience within Clinical Trials. Prior experience in management of a team is highly desirable.
- Experience in biological sample collection, storage, processing and associated sample management would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated high level conceptual and analytical skills and the capacity to take initiative, problem solve and assist in ensuring the success of each project.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and legislation related to human research ethics and research governance within Australia.
