Job Description

The Environmental Consultant will develop and apply technical, consulting, and problem-solving skills across a range of environmental, ESG, EHS, compliance, strategy, and transaction advisory projects. The role involves supporting project managers in the delivery of client assignments, undertaking technical assessments and analysis, preparing reports and presentations, and communicating findings to colleagues and clients. The successful candidate will work independently on project tasks while collaborating with senior consultants to build industry knowledge and consulting expertise.

As part of Ramboll's Compliance, Strategy and Transaction (CST) service line within the Environment & Health division, the Environmental Consultant will contribute to billable project work, including ESG/EHS due diligence, environmental compliance, site assessments, and sustainability-related assignments. The role may also support business development, proposal preparation, and marketing initiatives, helping deliver high-quality solutions that address client needs and regulatory requirements.

The position will be at the Singapore location and travel would be required as needed to support projects in the Southeast Asia region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Environmental Site Assessments and Inspections:

  • Conduct environmental site assessments, due diligence reviews, and prepare reports
  • Conduct environmental, health and safety inspections.
  • Analyze environmental data and prepare detailed reports.
  • Support the Compliance, Strategy and Transactions (CST) team in the execution of ESG/EHS due diligence assignments for mergers and acquisitions, investments, and development projects, including environmental, health, safety, and sustainability risk assessments.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity in all documentation.
  • Support the development and implementation of environmental management systems (EMS).
  • Collaborate with senior consultants to develop comprehensive environmental reports.
  • Stay updated with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Assist clients in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

Assist in other environmental teams on projects and tasks as needed, such as:

  • Assist in preparing other environmental assessments such as environmental impact assessments (EIAs), Phase II and Phase III Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and pollution control studies (PCS).
  • Analyze potential impacts of projects on the environment and propose mitigation measures.
  • Collect samples (soil, water, air) for analysis and report findings.

Project Management Support:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of environmental projects.
  • Coordinate with project teams and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Track project progress and report any issues to senior management.

Client Interaction:

  • Communicate with clients to understand their environmental consulting needs.
  • Provide technical support and advice to clients on environmental matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.

Health and Safety:

  • Implement and adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate potential HSE risks during site activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the team.

Continuous Learning and Development:

  • Stay informed about the latest developments in environmental science and technology.
  • Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support senior consultants and project managers in various tasks.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to collaborative problem-solving.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of all site visits, assessments, and project activities.
  • Ensure all documentation is organized and easily accessible for future reference.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and tender documents.

Qualifications

Preferred Background and Experience

  • Educational Background: Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in environmental health and safety (EHS) inspections and environmental site assessments is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in environmental sampling, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
