Your new role

We are looking for a Project Control Manager who will work on major energy and infrastructure EPCM projects deploying structured governance, accurate performance insights and proactive coordination across engineering, commercial and delivery teams. You will work closely with Project Directors, PMO Leads, technical disciplines and commercial functions to ensure that scheduling, cost control, risk management, reporting and change management are delivered consistently and to a high standard. The role demands practical project controls skills and the capacity to establish effective schedules and governance across complex, multi-discipline projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operating PMO functions, implementing integrated project control frameworks, and guiding organizations through complex delivery models.

 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop, implement and maintain integrated project control processes spanning schedule management, cost control, risk management, change control and progress tracking, ensuring consistent practice across all packages and stakeholders in projects.
  • Developing comprehensive project schedules that incorporate engineering activities, dependencies, vendor contributions, procurement timelines, and execution phases, utilizing established planning tools and structured methodologies.
  • Overseeing financial control processes such as baseline establishment, cost forecasting and estimates to completion, commitment tracking, and delivering actionable insights to leadership teams.
  • Coordinating risk and opportunity management with engineering and commercial teams, ensuring that uncertainties are clearly defined, monitored and addressed as part of a unified project control model.
  • Overseeing a robust change management process that captures variations driven by evolving design requirements, vendor information, technical clarifications or external constraints.
  • Ensuring alignment between engineering disciplines, commercial management, document control, procurement and project finance so that data remains coherent and timely.
  • Preparing clear and consistent reporting packages that provide transparency into schedule performance, cost status, risks, progress and upcoming milestones.
  • Supporting the implementation and continual improvement of project execution frameworks, ensuring that planning, risk, interface and document processes work as an integrated whole, reflecting best practice and supporting project governance requirements.
  • Contributing to project culture by fostering proactive coordination, constructive stakeholder relations and a disciplined approach to cross‑functional decision‑making.

 

About you

  • Extensive experience in PMO processes and project controls within large, complex engineering projects such as energy infrastructure, PtX, hydrogen, pipelines, industrial facilities or similar technically demanding environments.
  • Strong understanding of how engineering design phases unfold, including FEED, Detailed
  • Design, procurement and early contractor engagement, and how these phases drive schedule and cost evolution.
  • Familiarity with multi‑contract or multi‑package delivery models, vendor engagement phases and the integration of supplier data into the project baseline.
  • Proven experience implementing structured project execution frameworks and contributing to the development of project governance practices across organisations.
  • Advanced capability in progress controlling, integrated scheduling and reporting for large‑capital project environments, supported by expert‑level use of tools such as Primavera, MS Project or similar.
  • Ability to interpret technical inputs from diverse disciplines and translate them into clear cost, schedule and risk impacts, ensuring early visibility to leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across multicultural and multi‑disciplinary teams. Recognised strengths in communication, collaboration and proactive engagement are essential.
  • A structured mindset with strong analytical skills, combined with the ability to challenge assumptions and promote clarity in fast‑moving project environments.
