Job Description

Job Summary

As a valued member of our Light Commercial Vehicle body building team, the Production Operative plays a key role in supporting the end‑to‑end build process within the Maxi‑Low production environment. This role ensures all manufactured builds are completed to the highest quality standard, meet scheduled deadlines, and fully comply with health and safety expectations. The Production Operative contributes to the smooth running of the production line through hands‑on assembly work, adherence to housekeeping standards, and proactive identification of improvements. Operatives are expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, maintain an excellent work ethic, and uphold Maxi‑Low’s commitment to safe, efficient, and high‑quality production.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Ensure that manufactured builds meet the required quality standard.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Uphold and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Act as a supportive and positive team player.
  • Maintain excellent timekeeping and consistently meet production deadlines.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures during every activity undertaken.
  • Carry out manual handling tasks safely and competently.
  • Offer ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement and participate in improvement activity.
  • Ensure production outputs are achieved on time and in full.
  • Conduct quality checks on builds and ensure defects are identified and resolved.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives wherever possible.
  • Assist with training new starters when required.
  • Role model positive behaviors to colleagues across the production environment.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support production objectives.
